Create AI Images Using Microsoft Paint Cocreator
Microsoft has officially launched the Cocreator AI image creation feature in the classic Paint application for Windows 11. This addition allows users to easily create images using any description they can imagine.
According to its official website, Microsoft Paint Cocreator is a new feature that allows you to collaborate with a powerful AI model called DALL-E. This AI model can generate diverse and realistic images from any text description you enter.

How to use Cocreator
- Open Microsoft Paint.
- Click the Cocreator icon in the toolbar to see the Cocreator sidebar. If you haven't installed Microsoft Paint, you can get Paint from the Microsoft Store.
- In the text box, enter a description of the image you want to create. For example, you can type "blue cat with a red hat" or "landscape with mountains and a lake." Be as descriptive as possible to get results that meet your expectations.
- After you enter the text, select the style you want to create the image in. Then click the Create button.
- Cocreator will then generate three different variations of the image you requested. You can click on one of the variations to apply it to the Paint canvas and start making changes.
Cocreator credits
To use Cocreator, you need to use credits. Credits are the currency you use to generate images with Cocreator. You will receive 50 credits to create images when you join Cocreator. Every time you create an image, you spend one credit. You can see how many credits you have remaining in the bottom right corner of the Cocreator sidebar.
You can purchase additional credits from the Microsoft Store.
Content filtering
Microsoft is committed to responsible AI practices and the ethical use of technology. When you use Cocreator, Microsoft applies content filtering to prevent the creation of images that may be harmful, offensive, or inappropriate. Content filtering is based on a set of criteria that reflect Microsoft's values and standards, such as human dignity, diversity, and inclusion.
Content filtering is not perfect and may not catch all cases of unwanted images. If you find an image that is not appropriate or unexpected, please report it using the Feedback button in the Cocreator sidebar.
Limitations
Currently, Cocreator is only available in select regions, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Italy, and Germany. The feature is also only available in English.
